8. Vitamin D for boosting mood
Vitamin D deficiency is associated with symptoms of anxiety and depression, and vitamin D supplement treatment can improve mood. Vitamin D deficiency is most commonly the result of limited sun exposure and inadequate intake of foods rich in vitamin-D.
The RDA for vitamin D is 600 IU/day for adults.
Where to find it: Sunlight, wild salmon, mackerel, mushrooms, cod liver oil, canned tuna, canned sardines, free range beef liver, egg yolks.
