7 – Coconut oil for dry eyes
Dry eyes are often a result of bacteria or inflammation and since coconut oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, it could be theoretically used as an alternative to an antibiotic or anti-inflammatory eye drop.
A study has indicated that the anti-inflammatory properties of virgin coconut oil could be useful for treating dry eyes. Although the study was carried out on rabbits’ eyes, the results indicate that virgin coconut oil is safe to be used on human’s eyes.1✅ JOURNAL REFERENCE
