Eating any kind of chocolate at least five times per week leads to weight loss, according to medical school professor Dr. Beatrice Golomb. Her research shows that a girl weighing 120 pounds is likely to lose five pounds by doing so.
Sounds too good to be true? Professor Lambert of Penn State University discovered that cacao, chocolate’s pure form, has chemicals that stop dietary fat digestion in your gut. Thus instead of absorbing these fats into your body you pass them with your stool, which keeps you from gaining weight!
The bacteria in your gut also convert cacao’s fiber into good chemicals that make you feel full, making you eat less.

Despite these science-supported claims, it wouldn’t be very smart to pig out everyday and then drink a glass of red wine thinking you won’t gain weight. Will drinking a daily glass of red wine shed inches off your waist with your current diet and exercise? Most likely. Will your muscles magically tone themselves? Probably. However, be safe, continue to exercise, and don’t overeat – red wine isn’t a miracle drink.
4. Get Some Sun
Physically going outside and getting some sunlight boosts your metabolism. Serotonin tells your brain when you really need food and when you don’t, thus regulating your appetite and keeping you from overeating. Studies show it also stops cravings and makes you feel full even when your stomach isn’t! Thus, it can significantly make you eat less.
Seeing bright light increases your serotonin activity. On a clear, sunny day sunshine is 100 times brighter than even office fluorescent lighting. In fact, studies show that serotonin levels are lowest in fall and winter when the sun’s rays are weakest. Thus being outside and filling your eyes with sunlight boosts your serotonin better than opening all the lights indoors.
The sun’s UV rays also boost your vitamin D levels, which boost your serotonin levels. When the sun’s natural rays touch chemicals in your skin they convert to vital vitamin D, which your body needs to make serotonin and protect your heart and bones.
When going out in the sun make sure to wear natural sunscreen (like carrot seed oil) and sunglasses that block UVA and UVB rays. These rays can cause skin and eye cancer so make sure you protect yourself. You’ll still get the sun’s serotonin-boosting benefits with shades and sunscreen on.
5. Drink Coffee
Try drinking your morning cup of java before your workout. Research shows coffee boosts your metabolism while you exercise. On average, you burn 15 percent more calories if you drink two or three cups of coffee before you hit the treadmill. If you’re a coffee addict this is good news!
Coffee has been associated with healing your muscles and lowering your risk for lots of chronic diseases, including multiple sclerosis and cirrhosis! Just make sure not to drink more than five cups of coffee a day because the health effects start reversing.
6. Sleep Naked
