There is evidence to suggest that humor can reduce anxiety. In a study, people performed better on a math test after watching funny cartoons. In another study, people showed a reduction in anxiety after watching stand-up comedy for 20 minutes, and the effects of the comedy were similar to the effects of exercise. This suggests that using humor or having a laugh can inhibit anxiety and reduce its negative impact on your performance.
